Smile Charity Uganda is based on plot 700 Munyonyo road, Naluvule, Wakiso District in Uganda and operates mainly in Kampala and Wakiso districts. Our great impact has so far been realised in the city slums of Nabulagala in Kampala and the impoverished communities of Nansana in Wakiso district.

Smile is 100% supported by both part time and full-time volunteers who freely give their time, skills and talents to run the activities of the organization. The organization provides a very small monthly stipend to meet their travel needs and food while in the field and on base serving.
We are currently open to have new friends and partners whether individuals, groups, Churches or Organisations to expand our work and ministry of caring for children at risk, communities in need and the Church in Uganda especially in Kampala and Wakiso districts.

As our mission we aim for a long term rebuilding of lives through our domains namely Discipleshiop & Evangelism, Education Support, Skilling and Crisis care & management.

our major objective is to promote and advance the Christian faith through practical community initiatives as a means to improve on the quality of life within communities of Uganda.

The inception of Smile Charity Uganda

Smile Charity Uganda (SCU) is a Christian founded Charity. SCU was founded by Alex Gift Ngabonziza with the support of a very strong board of trustees namely Louise, Godfrey, Brian, Richard and an ever-evolving team of volunteers.

Established and launched in March 11th  2011 and based in Wakiso, Naluvule Kabulengwa Estate, SCU started as a CBO (Community Based Organization) working in the areas of Wakiso and Kampala. In 2015 SCU progressed to the NGO status and now allowed to serve within the entire country.

At the start in 2011, it was through generous support of Smile International under the lead of Rev. Clive and Ruth Doubleday, that we were able to meet the most critical funding and material needs of the organization for establishment and running.

In 2016, Smile Charity Uganda became fully independent and open to partnerships on a global platform. SCU now enjoy a wide spectrum of opportunity to partner and serve in partnership of friends and partners who are both individual and organisations.
